Weekend Gone

Sorry for no posts this weekend, I have been hit by the gloom cloud,
Friday I had slept most of the day due to Thursday being very busy and being out and about it totally zapped me and I felt agony.
Saturday was much the same only I went over to my mums about 7ish to collect Jayden, Ian had dropped him off earlier when he was working over that way, When we left the house Jordan was asleep on the sofa, I shouted him 2x and he didnt even stir so just left him.
When we got home he was still in the same position we had left him, we woke him up to get some food and then he went to bed.
Sunday I really felt just tired, I have got conjunctivitis and my eyes are streaming constantly so it is easier for me to just sleep and let my body recover.
Ian came in when he got home from work but I was still tired so told him to turn the light out and leave me be, he then came back in moaning about the police but I didnt really register what he was going on about and then Jordan came up and said he was being lifted by the police for breaking his bail conditions, while I was at my mums on Saturday night the police had chapped the door and Jordan slept through it, they assumed he wasnt in.
So he is now to appear in court today :(
I am all for him being punished and dealt with by the court for the offences he did commit but since he has been on his curfew he has been sticking to it as he doesnt want to end up in prison.
But to be lifted when your innocent I really felt for him last night, but at the same time proud of him, he told them calmly that he didnt break his conditions and they said it wasnt down to them he needed to appear at court and he got ready and didnt kick up a fuss which isnt normal for Jordan.
But the police were giving him room to play also and said to him he could roll a few cigarettes to take with him and they would let him out for a smoke.
I spoke to his lawyer last night and he told me not to worry they will get him home today, and if needed me and Ian will give witness statements to say he was here and was asleep.
just not what I needed this week.
So this morning I am phoning support workers and lawyers, he will be fine and Ian is coming home early from work to go pick him up after court.
So I have done literally no crafting this weekend.
I am starting to feel it though and really need to do something, so hopefully if I can get all these calls and things out of the way, This afternoon I can do a few card making videos for my monday series.

Anyway
Have a crafty week Love and hugs Karen xxx

New Car Day

Wow what a day, I have literally been on the go since before 7am this morning.
Couldnt sleep as I had a migraine this humid horrid heat is honestly driving me nuts,
so I made a few small cards nothing too fancy but they are cute.

Then I woke Jayden for school and thank the lord he was fit enough to go back to school yeeeahhhh
Next issue was getting ian up to the bank to check what was in the account before I started paying insurance and tax for the car, he came home and I had rung up the dealer for the V5 number to tax the car online, only to get it start doing it to be told I cant as the cars last owner had it as a disabled car so It had to be taxed the old way in the post office and fill in a different form a lot of whohaa about nothing. So 11am my brother collected us and drove us out to Grangemouth (about 50 miles from us)
so we got there and signed all the documents and then the guy escorted us to the nearest Post Office so we could get it legal (shoosh dont tell the traffic police we drove round the corner un taxed)
But we got that done and then I realised I hadnt had breakfast so sent Ian to find a sandwich bar or takeaway, he came back with a greggs tuna and onion sandwich which was absolute heaven.
We then had to find a petrol station in a town none of us knew, and we hadnt lifted the sat nav out of the other car before we left (and my phone doesnt have data as I am in the house 99.999% of the time lol) but we managed to get a petrol station and then find out way out of the town and back onto the motorway home.

But one thing we noticed driving home the windscreen wipers were not the best so we got to Paisley and headed to Halfords and got a new set fitted, then drove up to my parents and see my mum (hadnt seen her since before she went to hospital)
so we had a wee blether and they had a nosey at the new car.
Then we headed home, drove over the back country roads so Ian could get used to the car on different roads. Got home and waited for about 2hrs for Jayden to reappear (he had came in from school before we got home and went out to play) but come 6.30 he was still not back so we had to go shopping before the shop closed.
We went shopping, yes we I went in too but I can tell you my hips and my legs are really really feeling it and walking upstairs tonight was a very painful task.
but it meant we got all the essentials (Ian forgets about shampoo and conditioner, shower gel and things) so I got all that stuff.
We got home and I honestly couldnt even make it up the stairs my legs were so weak, so I lay on the couch for an hour and then came up here, emailed Ian's clients he missed today due to the time factor and the weather (it has not stopped raining up here most of today) then I checked my social media and lastly on here to write up my wee blog for today.

It has been crazy busy and with 3/4hrs max of sleep last night I am honestly ready to collapse but I have a bottle of coke cola zero and I am going to have a shaky handed little glass of jack daniels and coke tonight, that with my medication I will sleep like a baby :) I hope

Anyway hope you all have a fab crafty day
Lots of love and hugs Karen

Midweek Happiness

This morning started out with Jayden being sick, he has complained of an upset tummy the past few days along with his headache so yet again he had another day off school.

The postman came about 10am with a lovely parcel from Handy Hippo Crafts with my prize from their August giveaway, I was absolutely over the moon with my prize loads of goodies.
A huge thank you to Edie-Jane and all the staff at Handy Hippo Crafts for the brilliant work they do.

Got a call from the garage about the car and we are going to collect it tomorrow morning, So when Ian gets home I need to get it road taxed and Insured as my brother is picking us up at 9.30am (ish) tomorrow morning to go and collect it. I am super happy, now just need to try and find bravery pills to get out and learn to drive lol.

Craft wise I have done little bits and bobs nothing major
have been doing some playing with my watercolours just getting the feel of them and learning the basics, I have die cut a few bits and bobs and then made this wee card that I think is quite cute x

I am in a bit of a rut with my creativity have been scouring pinterest for inspiration but as yet nothing is jumping out at me, and even with my new goodies today from Handy Hippo I am still struggling but I am sure it is a temporary blip and will be back to normal before too long.
Sometimes I feel that too many supplies can overwhelm your thoughts and drown you with ideas, so going to try tomorrow choosing a small selection of things and working with them only.

On positive news mum got home from hospital today which is a huge relief as my dad being with his limited mobility has found it extremely difficult and my sister has been run ragged trying to do all of mums work plus the extra load of running back and forth to the hospital.

Anyway I hope you all have a fab crafty day
Love and hugs Karen x

Sick Kids

Sorry for no blog yesterday but wee Jayden-Jack had a migraine headache and was off school.

Jayden got woke at 7am and said he wasnt feeling well had a sore head and felt sick, so he had a wee slice of toast and then gave him some medication to help the headache but with him being poorly I was dealing with him, so didnt really have much time to do much.

I did tidy my craftroom a little bit, as I made a small butterfly from an altered CD
I love it and when I had die cut it, I needed to find my crop a dile so needed to hunt through everything lol.

I love the colours of this and will add jump rings and then chain to it will be lovely.

I also got my stampin up order, I had ordered softly falling (snow falling) embossing folder, and the thoughtful banners bundle which was the stamp set and punch, so hand for so many different uses I love it.

I havent slept much through the night and ended up making this card

The paper is from the silent night paper collection from First Edition.
It is a lovely soft tone and ideal for the idea I had in mind,
The snowman was simply 2 circles die cut and covered with Aleenes Glittered Snow which is a textured paste with glitter in it. so pretty. The snowflakes were from first edition dies and spellbinders dies and the words are from tim holtz holiday script dies I love it.

This morning I have applied for the trimcraft design team, I adore trimcraft products and so buy a lot of them mainly from Our Jo at Jo's Crafty Pad over on facebook
I uploaded 3 projects to apply so I chose my parents wedding anniversary canvas, my bow card, and also a selection of notecards so fingers crossed, but I am just happy to have applied and they are seeing my work.

Mum has finally been diagnosed with spondylitis so she is being referred to a neuro surgeon to see if they want to do some surgery, but I very much doubt that they will want to due to the fact mum has a LOT of other health issues including her having to be on warfarin for deep vein thrombosis so any surgery means she need to come off her warfarin to let her blood thicken up and then once she is post op they need to thin the blood again but slowly so that the internal surgery doesnt bleed.
so I think they may try physio or some other form of treatment initially. She is still in the hospital at the moment as he blood pressure is very low and they want that to be up before the let her home.

Jordan has a meeting with his support worker today to discuss his options for improving his life and turning things around, so fingers crossed that goes well, Jayden is still of school today with yet another headache, so I am going to be making him an appointment at the doctors asap to get him a  wee check over.

The car we are still waiting to hear back from them so I as yet dont know what is going to happen.

Anyway thats it for now hope you all have a lovely day

Happy Crafting Love Karen xxx

Serene Sunday

Short blog today folk, things have been very mellow here for a wee change, Jayden has been over at my neighbours daughters birthday party today since 12 noon and it is now 9.10pm lol mega long party lol but they are all having a ball my neighbour has been posting videos and photos regularly all day on facebook.
This is the card I made Skye from us
it is her favorite TV show at the moment this is not © for me to use but I havent sold it so I will be fine lol x (I hope) shush just dont tell anyone haha x
But it is pretty and girly but also a little more grown up which is good.

Spoke to mum for a bit earlier on today and she is doing fine, tomorrow they are hoping to get the Ct scan done but it will just depend on how many are booked in and how many emergency cases crop up wither she will get the scan and the results done on the same day which is annoying but nothing we can do about it really.

The garage called late yesterday and the car went through an MOT on Friday night and failed due to suspension brushes so they are fitting new ones on Monday and then will resit its MOT and if all being well we will pick the car up on Thursday, my brother has agreed to drive us through and means Ian can pick the car up, I just need to tax and insure it before Thursday so it is legal on the road.

Anyway folk thats all for today, I have done a wee bit of mixed media work tonight but I want to see if it works before I say too much, if it works I will be videoing it and perhaps do a tutorial on here too x Anyway Happy Crafting always Karen x

Where has the week gone???

Well it is Saturday sorry for not blog yesterday but I was honestly up to my neck in phonecalls and general paperwork for the house and stuff.
Yesterday Jordan was in court and has been released on bail, he has conditions including a curfew from 7pm till 7am until he goes back to court, we have also made conditions on him which include him either going on to a college course or doing a training course, learning programme anything to keep his mind active and stop him sitting about thinking of hair brained schemes to make money.
He has agreed to them and it will be down to him to stick to them because if we put him out the house he goes to jail on remand as he wont have a bail address.
Also a support group that used to work with him as a teenager also are involved again and are included as part of his bail conditions that he work with them and try and get his life turned around.
so fingers crossed he will take heid and will hopefully make the changes after all he is the only one who can make that change.

Otherwise with mum we are still waiting on them doing more tests they cannot find her notes on what type of metal the stint is in her brain mum had a brain aneurysm in 2000 and needed a clip put in her brain to stop the bleed. but now 16yrs on the information on what type of clip went in has disappeared!!! honestly it beggars belief so they now cannot do the MRI scan like they wanted to do so they are going to do another CT scan and see what that shows. meanwhile they have put her on a new medication gabapentin to help with the nerve pains but they are combined with all her other meds making her very sleepy, my sister visited yesterday and took out her dirty washing and bagged it up, unpacked her clean washing and put it in her locker and she slept through it until the wee nurse came in with the BP monitor to do her obs and woke her up and she drowsily said hello to Laura.
I hate they are so unprofessional with their details, when mum had the brain aneurysm they were originally giving her morphine (I was in the room when she was administered it twice) as one of the main symptoms of a bleed in the brain is a sledgehammer like headache, and by that evening she was transferred to a specialised hospital that deal with head injuries and brain, spine neurological etc and they immediately became concerned at how drowsy she was and I said "oh it will be the morphine" and they looked at me and said "what??" I said it will be the morphine she had 2 lots this morning for pain relief, they were jaw drop quiet and started checking her notes (which for the record mum went from the ward in Paisley via nurse escorted ambulance to a hospital in glasgow, the notes were delivered from ward to ward by a TRAINED member of staff) and there was NO notes for her having had morphine that day, we later found out why morphine causes the bleeding to get worse and makes things much worse luckily they scanned her again when I told them and the bleeding hadnt gotten much worse thankfully but it easily could have been a VERY different story.
We could have taken it further and were advised to by the medical staff but to be honest all we wanted was mum to recover and get back on her feet, it was a long run almost 6 wks she was in hospital and took a good 6 months to have her back to near normal but there have been long term side effects to the brain operation she has no sense of smell at all (just aswell living with my niece honestly for being a young girl her backside when she lets wind go is eugh seriously disgusting) she also loses words for instance she will be trying to say wardrop and will come out with unit, cupboard, drawers, clothes and will get frustrated over time we have learned to click what she is meaning but other folk look at her sometimes like "wit you talking about" but she laughs it off most of the time. and the worse side effect is her patience levels especially with the kids, mum always had kids about her running playschemes in the summer holidays, running brownies and then beaver scouts etc but now she just cant even if the grandweans make too much noise she will get annoyed and she also gets flustered very easily, mum used to do xmas dinner for us all no hassles but now she gets so stressed out and cant do big meals, even sundays we all would be over and get a roast dinner and she had to stop it because she got so flustered and wasnt enjoyable to sit and eat when she got so worked up so we stopped going over, or when we did we left before meals.
but life does go one after major things like this and you just restock and re-evaluate and then move on.

Anyway last little bit I was creating party boxes for my neighbours daughter who is having a movie themed birthday part tomorrow so I made popcorn styled boxes, they are so cute so thats all I have been doing.

So cute x I made 20 I love them.

Anyway happy crafting Love and hugs Karen x

Police, Hospitals and Cars

Sadly today I got zero crafting done, my morning started as normal
7am alarm got Jayden up for school, Ian was having a lie in as we were going to view a few newer cars today. Jordan hadnt been to bed he had been awake all night playing his playstation.
7.40am the door got chapped I was in here in the craftroom catching up on emails and pm's on facebook etc. so I hear someone say to Jayden is mum or dad home? Jayden shouts Jordan who was downstairs in the livingroom and I heads down still in my nightie, and there was 3 CID officers at the door, they came in and asked that we wake up Ian (obviously they had asked if there was anyone else in the house) sent Jayden up to wake him and they briefly said they had a search warrant and would show me it when Ian came down, by then my mood fell through the floor, I said can you wait till he goes to school at 8.15am no sorry we can't so I told Jayden to go over to my neighbour accross the road, she has 2 little ones in primary school and knew she would be up and about.
Ian came down and they let me read the paper with the warrant it was regarding our eldest son and things he had been getting up to, they then let Jordan read it and then Ian. They asked me where Jordan kept his "stuff" and told him living room, kitchen, bathroom and his bedroom which he shares with his brother.they said that would be the rooms they checked, and to be fair they could have been absolutely with in their rights to raid the whole house but they didnt. they didnt ransack the place either they did look but done it with care. Jordan went with them while they searched the kitchen and the bathroom and his room, they took some items of clothing and his mobile phone.
They then said they were detaining him and being the 17yr old know it all he tried the "im not sorted yet lads its a bit early I need to go get sorted" and the supervising officer put him in his place, "your detained if you want to brush your teeth and get a quick wash ask me but we are telling you whats happening not the other way around" and that was Jordan off on one "f**king scum blah blah blah" I said to him thats enough just do what they ask and get it over and done with.
I then said do you want me to call charlie (his lawyer) "no ill do it myself when I get there" ok, I will ring about 4pm then and see if you are being released and dad can come and get you "no dont bother" obviously raging for me siding with the police but to be fair they were in the right, anyway the supervising officer said to me if he wants you to know whats happening one of us will ring you.
So off they went.
I was just scunnered absolutely scunnered, but realistically what can you actually do they are adults in the eyes of the law, and he doesnt do anything dodgy in my house they didnt find anything in here except his own stuff, cause I wouldnt tolerate it, thats if he has done anything.

But we decided to go with our plans and chase up cars, so rung two one was a meriva 2yrs younger than ours and 1.6 litre engine ours is a 1.4 but when we got there the underneath of the car was badly rusted and ian felt it needed a lot of work soon to keep it on the road so we drove away and left it.

car 2 was in Falkirk 50miles from us but it was an older car 56 plate but it has 1/3 of the miles our car has we are at 153,000 at the moment and this one only had 51,000 and it was a diesel 2 litre engine, we heard it go and ian started it up went first time, and he searched it all over and was in good nick, they wanted £1849.00 for it and Ian managed to say if it goes through its MOT with no advisories we will take it for £1700.00 and they said fine, so it is going through the MOT tomorrow, I will then ring up Monday or Tuesday and add it on our insurance and deal with the road tax. then on Thursday my brother is going to drive us out to collect it.

This is the car looks pretty decent for 10yrs old

Ians going to use the Meriva for work and keep the Kia for running around in. He wants me to go for my driving lessons and he thinks having the car there will help get me out and about more, I agree in theory but the idea of actually driving on the road scares the crap out of me. But would mean I could visit my friends (that I feel safe with) or just when Jayden is off school take him a wee run in the car with a picnic and stop somewhere quiet and sit in the car and eat our lunch etc. But we will see.
Then tonight I visited my parents, mum is still in hospital they to be honest havent got a clue what is wrong, they want her to have an MRI scan but due to her having had a brain aneurysm she has a metal clip in her brain and dependent on the type of metal it is wither she can have the scan so it is a nightmare. My sister went up to visit tonight and she took my niece and Jayden with her.
Also my friend Anne who lost her mum last month she is a clerk in the hospital she went up to visit mum when she finished and Mum is in the same ward and the same room as Annie was in (our family friend who died in that room) but told Anne, Only the good die young that old witch will out live us all x and we all laugh about it due to the amount of times she has been at the brink and came back. But it is scary when you actually realise our mums and dads arent going to be around forever.

Anyway like I said ladies I have done zero crafting as I didnt get home till 9.30pm and I am pooped, checked my usual email, facebook, and then youtube.

And between 6.30pm (ish) and 10pm I have won Jakki douglass's wee giveaway to be fair me and mel won by default, as poor Jakki hadnt been very well but... she has another video posted with a brilliant giveaway so click HERE to view.
and then I won a prize on Handy Hippo Crafts I am so excited x honestly it is after the day I had just brilliant and then.... Ian brought me up my sub box from scrimpy's from August and I love it all as always. so Im going to bed to take all my meds and sleep right through.
Jordan is up in court tomorrow so no doubt I will hear at some point what has happened.
We arent going, Ian obviously has work and I couldnt manage on my own plus I need to be here for the wee one getting in from school.
But Im sure whatever happens I will just dust myself off and just keep going x

Thanks for being here x Lots of Love and Hugs Karen xx
